SEAMLESS AND CONTROLLED TRANSITION FROM PROJECT TO OPERATION

When it is time for your new automation solution to be integrated into your existing production everything must come together. After designing, building and testing the solution you are now at the point where you are ready to see a return on all your invested time and resources.
But before that can happen the machine needs to be successfully installed and commissioned at your site. Because of this we aim to be your trusted partner in this critical stage of the project. Our team of dedicated specialists is committed to not leaving your site before your new solution runs seamlessly.

ENSURING A SUCCESFULL INSTALLATION

In November last year we sent a team to Mexico to install a solution for one our customers, ConvaTec. Every single one of them had been a part of the project for a long time. Because of this they had an in-depth knowledge of the solution which is crucial when installing it in a new environment. Anders Henriksen, Jannik Petersen and Stefan Søger was on the installation team in Mexico using their knowledge and expertise to ensure the customer got off to a great start with the newly installed solution.

Anders Henriksen, Mechanical Assembly, describes how they approached the job at hand: “When delivering a solution, we take ownership of key parts in the installation and commissioning. We are on site to make sure that the customer receives the best possible set-up. It is common that unforeseen challenges occur during the installation process. And when that happens, we are ready to handle them and find a solution together with the people on site.

Anders’ colleague Stefan Søger, Electrical Assembly, adds: “We carry out the task professionally and we use our technical knowledge to handle challenges and implement adjustments so the solution fits perfectly in its new and permanent surroundings. In one instance we needed to figure out how to place and adjust the machine without it interfering with the fire sprinklers. We found a solution without comprising safety and efficiency. And the people on site in Mexico were happy that we took on the task.”

COLLABORATION AND OPEN COMMUNICATION

After numerous installations throughout the years and around the world we know that a successful handover goes beyond the technical solution. Open communication and strong collaboration plays a vital role when completing the final steps before a solution goes live in the customer’s production. Because of this we make sure that the people on site are part of the process, so they are familiar with the new machine and are well equipped to operate it.

Stefan Søger describes: “Communication and collaboration are key when we are on site installation.  We often deliver solutions to sites in countries that are very different from Denmark. This means we are collaborating across cultures and languages. And that just makes communication even more important. We need to make sure that there aren’t any misunderstandings or uncertainties that will prevent them from operating the machine efficiently and safely.”

Due to possible cultural differences and language barriers, we always make sure that our project managers are in close contact with the customer’s project manager during this time to ensure the process runs smoothly. In this instance the project manager from ConvaTec was present on site in Mexico during the installation.

Jannik Petersen, Software Design, says: “We had a great collaboration with the Project Manager from ConvaTec, Niki Strandholdt. He was on site during most of the installation and he made a big difference with his knowledge of the site and the people working there. Our experience was that he shared our focus on problem-solving and it was clear that we all had the common goal of completing the installation successfully.

Niki Lendal Strandholdt, Senior Technical Project Manager, ConvaTec, describes his experience of working with the PJM team during installation and commissioning: “The site installation in Mexico was an incredibly positive experience all the way through. The whole PJM team was fantastic to work with. The small challenges we encountered along the way were approached with a positive attitude, and the team managed to resolve everything successfully.
As project manager it was a pleasure to witness their diligence and attention to detail. And I am quite certain that this is one of the reasons why the machine is running as well as it does. I very much look forward to working with them again on another project.”

As your trusted automation solutions partner, we don’t leave your site until your newly installed solution runs smoothly and your operators are equipped to work the machine safely and efficiently.
